Transitioning Together

Transitioning Together is a group to support parents of trans adults. Groups will be a combination of learning, discussions, group process, and reflection activities. This group will focus on topics to help build an understanding of trans experience, to support the many feelings that arise for parents of trans adults, and to build connection both between group participants and between parents and their adult child. Group size will be limited to 8. 

Please circulate the attached flyer to anyone who may benefit.

Format: Virtually via Zoom (link to be provided after registration)

Date: Tuesdays 6:30pm-8:30pm (Start Date TBD)

Cost: $80 per household* each group ($800 for the series)

Facilitators: Zachary Templeman, RP(Qualifying), with Ronnie Ali (RP)

*Household is intended to mean parents/caregivers/family that will be logging into the group from the same computer.

Facilitator Bio: Zachary Templeman is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), group facilitator, and parent with over a decade of experience supporting LGBTQ2S+ people and their families. As a trans person, they bring both professional training and lived experience to their work with parents of transgender adults. Their approach is warm, thoughtful, and down-to-earth, making room for the many feelings parents may carry, including love, worry, guilt, confusion, grief, and hope. Zach is committed to creating supportive group spaces where parents can feel less alone, learn from one another, and build stronger, more connected relationships with their adult children.


Guest Facilitator Bio: Ronnie Ali (she/her) is a Registered Psychotherapist, diversity and conflict management consultant, and clinical supervisor. Ronnie is a trans woman of colour and an immigrant-settler on Turtle Island.
